Psalms 66

Praise for God’s Mighty Deeds and for His Answer to Prayer.

For the choir director. A Song. A Psalm.

1 aShout joyfully to God, all the earth;
2Sing the bglory of His name;
Make His cpraise glorious.
3Say to God, “How dawesome are Your works!
Because of the greatness of Your power Your enemies will
Lit deceive
,
fgive feigned obedience to You.
4 gAll the earth will worship You,
And will hsing praises to You;
They will sing praises to Your name.”
Selah may mean: Pause, Crescendo or Musical interlude
Selah.

5 jCome and see the works of God,
Who is kawesome in His deeds toward the sons of men.
6He lturned the sea into dry land;
They passed through mthe river on foot;
There let us nrejoice in Him!
7He orules by His might forever;
His peyes keep watch on the nations;
Let not the rebellious qexalt themselves. Selah.

8Bless our God, O peoples,
And
Lit cause to hear the sound of His praise
,
ssound His praise abroad,
9Who
Lit puts our soul in life
,
ukeeps us in life
And vdoes not allow our feet to
Or dodder, stumble
slip.
10For You have xtried us, O God;
You have yrefined us as silver is refined.
11You zbrought us into the net;
You laid an oppressive burden upon our loins.
12You made men aaride over our heads;
We went through abfire and through water,
Yet You acbrought us out into a place of abundance.
13I shall adcome into Your house with burnt offerings;
I shall aepay You my vows,
14Which my lips uttered
And my mouth spoke when I was afin distress.
15I shall agoffer to You burnt offerings of fat beasts,
With the smoke of ahrams;
I shall make an offering of
Or cattle
bulls with male goats. Selah.

16 ajCome and hear, all who
Or revere
fear God,
And I will altell of what He has done for my soul.
17I cried to Him with my mouth,
And
Or praise was under my tongue
He was anextolled with my tongue.
18If I
Or had regarded
,
apregard wickedness in my heart,
The aqLord
Or would
will not
Or have heard
hear;
19But certainly atGod has heard;
He has given heed to the voice of my prayer.
20 auBlessed be God,
Who avhas not turned away my prayer
Nor His lovingkindness from me.
